G3 Aurora Borealis Timelapse - May 12 2024
Second night in a row of amazing Aurora unlike any I've seen before, which at times was engulfing overhead and well into the Southern horizon. Captured in Waukenabo MN at 2 second intervals over about 3 hours. There was plenty of dancing...not possible to show here, we also saw some really wild 'shimmering', like pulsating Aurora, but not exactly - that was a first for everyone.

fun trip! BTW Model 3 lease is no secret anymore. Will be available for comparison whatever you want. If I ever get it. Ha ha.
What camera are you using?
Pixel 8 Pro for the self/panning/screen shots and Insta360 Go 3 for the hyperlapse/action stuff.
But don’t you worry about range? /s
😜
Swift boated. The truth is a bitch.
Hilarious. Still only showing one minute clips of the POS driving around the parking lot. Following this PONZI SCAM has become a favorite past time. Gee, where's all that solar you keep lying about? "This thing really rips" as the two dweebs "rip" around a closed parking lot at the eye watering max speed of 28 miles per hour. Impressive. Piss your pants hilarity
Thanks for the ride and the first word from the big EVA weekend.
It feels like in tight turns, the steering wheel won't cut it. It doesn't need to be round, but perhaps a top part may be needed? Or am I wrong? 😄
I don't think we know the ratio of the PI builds yet etc., but I could possibly settle for a "squircle" like the cybertruck.. I adjusted quickly to the yoke in X/S Plaid though so it's still my first choice for visibility+looks+comfort.. it really only gets a tad annoying at low speed in parking lots but I also adjusted quickly to that. I do get it though for doing track racing or something, maybe you'd want a top bar.
Pure excitement. I definitely enjoyed it vicariously. Thanks for sharing. The fast as possible once around allowed more people to ride in a shorter amount of time, but I would have wanted to savor the experience and begged to drive the same route only slow cruising so I could have greedily enjoyed it longer. Plus I would have been waving to all the onlookers cheekily! Yes, it would have taken longer, but also reserved more charge for more people to experience I would guess.
Hilarious. More bullshit and lies. Can't seem to give more than a one minute clip of the prop moving , and in a parking lot! So pathetic! If this piece of trash actually worked as they say it does you'd see dozens, hundreds of uncut videos of it on the road for more than a few seconds. Such a scam. Can't wait to see this pile of excrement hit the fan.
Apologies for some of the funk in some of the reply threads, I did end up deciding to block comments from aussieideasman, which is a bit of a bummer and I'll certainly take responsibility for derailing that! But I'm not a "youtuber" by trade and don't feel like debating my ethics and communication skills as a primary topic of my channel. I also plan to sleep rather than try to protect people from being trolled, and while some comments were welcome, it was just leading to toxicity I'm not cool with here. So that's what i chose to do. Check out his channel and bring all the debate you'd like over there. As for here, do your own diligence on if I'm misleading anyone, and I definitely own a bias of being positive RE Aptera.
Thanks for all the amazing support Milson! I hope you had a blast today, it was fun giving 50 test rides back-to-back to so many happy faces! :) I look forward to seeing you again soon. -Chris M
Happy to do a tiny part, thanks for the epic day you hosted for the community and congrats on the EVA award!
Your scam is coming to an end. If your one prop actually worked you'd showcase it actually driving on a real road in real conditions but you can't because it doesn't. Your scam can only do circles in a parking lot in short cuts. I dare you to show it perform uncut in the real world, like up a hill or on a long trip. Ponzi scam
There are actually various videos out there showing it on real roads, and I think they will be taking up your dare with the PI builds this year. Thanks for watching!
@@johnbauby6612 Both my wife and I have had long rides in a prototype on public roads. You clearly don't know what a Ponzi scam even is. You should be ashamed of yourself.
@n.brucenelson5920 you're a part of this ponzi scheme N Bruce. Why don't you tell everyone that you're a paid shill for Aptera? You're paid to rope new people into this SCAM , there's your ponzi definition conman. Your job is to rope new people in and as damage control on all the bogus Aptera scam channels where you attack anyone who presents logic and points out the scam in the comments. Your pathetic attempts at silencing the truth are hilarious! Aptera is a total SCAM. Keep lying conman
29 mph for 1 minutes, that's all it takes for all the excitement in the comments? Lol As an investor i need a lot more, 100× more. Drive the hills of Cumberland, Maryland for an hour for a real test. I'm tired of these little clips, put this vehicle to a successful test already (with no overheating or malfunctioning)
We saw and heard a lot of things to be excited about beyond this tiny tidbit today, and a lot of that will be coming to RUclipsrs near you soon. Alas that is not a test in the mountains but it should be an interesting year for sure!
My wife and I had 2 long rides in an alpha back in November of 2021. The prototypes are already capable of much more than what you can show to a large group of people giving rides. Don't discourage these clips or opportunities! Remember that you are experiencing a prototype that most manufacturers would never let you see - or if you did you would be bound by NDAs. Aptera has been more open than anyone I can think of ever - and I have worked with many automotive manufactures around the world in the US, Europe, and Asia.
The ball is in Apteras court to show that they can function according to those claims. So far, they have not. Now we wait.
@@billsmith5960 Many of the claims have been shown on video and in person - even on prototypes. Soon we will be seeing the Production Intent vehicles going through validation, including by third parties. Remember Tesla uses the excuse that "it doesn't have to" to excuse the fact that the Tesla Cybertruck has not been crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety or by any federal regulator. A spokesperson for the NHTSA said it doesn't plan to test the Cybertruck next year for its five-star safety ratings program.
@@n.brucenelson5920 - Here we go again, "soon." Now we need to keep waiting. Seems to be the business plan of Aptera. I never mentioned Tesla. On the other hand, Tesla makes product and has for many years. Aptera has made nothing. So you can't compare them. You know better as it's another whataboutism. Please be more mature in your responses. You know that Aptera needs to start making a product then it can be compared to what is already out on the market.
That upload was fast! What a hoot that ride was. Chris squeaked the tires for mine while going around a curve. It was great hanging out with you during the EVA meeting!
oh man i hope ssssso hard they succed. such a cool car. the only car i d want to ever drive. thx for sharing the experience.
Thank you for demonstrating the need for a complete steering wheel instead of a partial circle.
I love the yoke and visibility it offers, and got lots of seated time with it checking the feel (not driving, acknowledged), but also I loved the yoke on the Plaids after driving with it, so...I hope they don't change it.
@@milsonian Thank you for your opinion.
Thanks for the comments all, it was a short but awesome ride..it was quiet, tight and tuned very well! Excited to see how great the production intent builds will be!
This just makes me more impatient for the Aptera to be available. Hopefully, we will see a PI full build very shortly so further validation can be made.
Cool your jets, brother. I was at this event and in the back of my mind I was hoping to get a test drive in a PI build. The reality is a PI build may be as much as three months away. It will be coming and it will be awesome, just not "very shortly".
@barnabasseadog7660 you can relax, I was just expressing my interest. I'm fully aware things take time. I'm from Australia and I'm guessing I won't see mine till at least 2026.
I hope nobody steps out in front of that kid as he's speeding through the parking lot. Aptera would loose a lot of its money to a wrongful death or injury lawsuit.
Reasonable concern..just sharing my experience, there were many people watching out for others and the safety of the area in general. No one was coming or going, they were all there taking it in! Also, he's not a kid, and probably has the most miles of experience on that vehicle of anyone on Earth.
That kid has more experience than anyone else driving that car in that parking lot. I even let him drive my Arcimoto around the lot after he was done with the crowd. He's a pro, were in the peanut gallery.
Note: combative/quippy replies will be deleted from my channel (as I just did, and will own). I love the discourse but keep it civil y'all!
Unless you were there you should not comment negatively. I watched several “hot laps” and took a ride myself. If he was unsafe I would not have hesitated to give the CHILL! command as I have done with Lyft or friends. It’s safety first in my world.
Kids should not be running through parking lots. Darwinism solves this problem automatically.
Three wheels. But unlike the Reliant Robin, the Aptera has no differential for Top Gear to modify and trick millions of viewers into thinking it's an unstable car. Nor is there enough room for them to install larger wheels and raise the center of mass, like they also did to the Reliant Robin. Aptera might stand a chance!
It is also more inherently stable as a tadpole. That said that coverage of the Reliant Robin should have required full disclosure. This is the kind of dirty tricks that the industry can pull.
@@ccibinel I had a Suzuki Samurai when Consumer Reports did that hack job in the 1980's after it outsold Jeep in it's first year in North America. That Arcimoto in the background is mine, so I already know how viable the space between two wheel and four wheel vehicles can really be. Aptera is entering the market at a pivotal time.
Down to 93 slots left in the Accelerator program. It's going to be close as to whether it fills at the end of January or the beginning of February.
Thanks for sharing your Gamma test ride today, it looks like it was a blast. There were lots of folks lined up, from the looks of it. We can't wait to visit Aptera ourselves!
I do have a question. Someone somewhere stated that batteries can not be charged and used at the same time. So my question is, is that true? Now I personally don't care if the Aptera is using solar power to run the vehicle and the batteries as needed, but wanted to confirm what is actually happening. BTW, I'm in investor, currently at #84, so this is not a trolling question, I'm just curious.
I'm pretty sure the Aptera can charge while driving, but the catch is, if you're going more than 40 miles per day, it will discharge faster than it charges. In fact, it probably discharges any time it is moving, solar power or not. If the question is whether the solar power reduces the energy used while driving, I'm pretty sure it does, by a fairly small amount.
Your phone/laptop can be both on and charging, right?
I am thinking that either way you get the charging just not the way a person might think.
@@patrickphelan4055ruclips.net/video/Sdkufp-UIfI/видео.htmlsi=n6upA1fG6wG_7j6r
It should charge greater as the batterys continue to drain
It is so much smoother than what Luna was, already! Thanks for posting. My guess is that the PI vehicles will be another large step in refinement and quality. The precision of the CPC parts is so much greater than the vacuum resin infusion of the Gamma.
@@aussieideasman8498 I have never claimed to be an engineer. However, I have done some significant high profile engineering projects, including a samples freezer for the ISS (under contract to the University of Alabama- if you could do research you could look it up.) Precision of fit in body parts *certainly* contributes to the lack of creaks and aerodyamic noise due to poorly fitting body parts. Are you sure you should be commenting on things you apparently know nothing about?
"Body shell parts don't contribute to smoothness in the ride." Ma'am, chassis stiffness tuning has been the primary contributor to ride feel for the last 30 years.@@aussieideasman8498
Damn, it looks so fun to drive.

I hate everything about it
Why tf you are here

7 minutes to park in reverse.... holu crap.
You have to be a special kind of stupid to want an ev vehicle in minnesota
People are gathering around waiting for this thing? Man, that's the ugliest car/truck or whatever you wanna called it. I'm sure it comes with some of the latest technologies but I just can't get over the fact that this THING reminded me of an unfinished shape of wooden block in grade school wood class. To me, looks and performance is everything. I don't care how great the technology that comes with this THING, It truly bothers me that no matter how I look at it, it reminds me of some unfinished wooden block that's yet to be carved into a car. Paying $60k for a deformed car, -- No thanks.
The entire point is to look different, was never meant to win a beauty pageant. EVERY damn car and truck looks exactly the same nowadays. Nothing is innovative at all. I'll take one of these in black for a new daily. It'll pull the car and bikes to the tracks very nicely.
Most beautiful vehicle!!
Go whine to your boyfriend.
Fck me I knew they were going to do it
That one neighbourhood where everyone has money
And has taken advantage of government subsidies.
What's the point of owning a car covered in solar panels if you're just gonna park it in the garage?
Parking it in a garage at night won't affect the solar performance, or negate the solar energy collected from driving. Every bit of that energy is energy you don't have to draw from the grid and pay for.
There's seriously a mn tesla club what do they do drink fiji water all day and complain to the manager

0:41 It's tough to celebrate when you're watching the beginnings of a full blown balloon catastrophe.
Legend has it that those balloons remain in the TD Garden rafters to this day, plotting to exact their vengeance on the DNC for trapping them up there.
